Privacy policy

MoreAI.tools (“we,” “our”) is operated from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We respect your privacy and comply with Canadian PIPEDA and CASL. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to opt out.

What we collect

• Newsletter subscriptions: email address, signup timestamp, a hashed IP address as consent proof, user-agent string, and which page you signed up from. Optional name if you provide one.
• Site analytics: aggregated, anonymous visitor counts (no cookies, no personal identifiers) via Plausible Analytics — a privacy-friendly service hosted in the EU.
• Click telemetry: when you click a tool link, we log the tool, a hashed (not raw) IP address, user-agent, and the page you came from. Used to compute popularity scores. Not linked to your identity.
• Affiliate tracking: when you click through to a vendor, we add a UTM source so the vendor knows the referral came from us. The vendor may set their own cookies after the redirect — their privacy policy governs that.

We do not collect: real names without consent, phone numbers, addresses, payment details, browsing history outside our site, or any data we can’t justify under PIPEDA’s purpose-limitation principle.

Why we collect it

• Newsletter signups: to deliver the newsletter you asked for. That’s it.
• Analytics: to understand which content resonates so we can write more of it.
• Click telemetry: to compute popularity scores and detect dead links.
• Affiliate tracking: to be paid commission when readers find tools through us.

Who we share it with

• beehiiv — our newsletter platform. Receives your email and consent timestamp. Their privacy policy: beehiiv.com/privacy.
• Supabase — our database host. Stores all subscriber and analytics data. Database located in ca-central-1 (Canadian data residency). Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy.
• Vercel — our hosting provider. Sees server logs (which include IP addresses) for 24 hours before purge. Privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Cloudflare — our DNS provider. Privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
• Affiliate networks (Impact, PartnerStack, etc.) — when you click through to a vendor, the network receives a referral attribution. They do not receive your email or any data we hold.

How long we keep it

• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, or 36 months of inactivity (whichever comes first), then deleted.
• Click telemetry: rolled up to aggregate scores nightly; raw event records purged after 30 days.
• Server logs: purged within 24 hours by Vercel.

Your rights under PIPEDA

You can request, at any time:

• A copy of all data we hold about you (access)
• A correction of any inaccurate data (rectification)
• Deletion of your subscriber record and all associated data (erasure)
• The data in a portable format (portability)
• To opt out of any specific use (objection)

Email [email protected] with your request. We respond within 30 days, usually within 48 hours.

CASL compliance

Every newsletter signup requires explicit consent (a checkbox you actively check). Every email includes the sender identification, our physical mailing address, and a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect within 10 business days (usually immediately). You can also unsubscribe by emailing us. We retain consent proof (timestamp + hashed IP) for as long as you remain subscribed plus 36 months.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. We use a single session cookie required for the site to function (e.g. remembering preview-mode state for editors). EU and UK visitors are not shown a cookie banner because we don’t set any non-essential cookies.

Breach notification

If we discover a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada within the timeframes PIPEDA requires, with a clear description of what happened, what data was affected, and what we’re doing about it.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when our practices change. The version date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make a material change, current subscribers will receive an email notice with at least 14 days’ advance notice before it takes effect.
